Post Workout protein gr / Kg

I’m not sure I said protein wasn’t important.

Yeah I really don’t want TR to start giving advice in my training program around nutrition. I prefer to keep those two things completely separate. Next thing you know our AI FTP goes down because we didn’t eat their version of a proper post workout meal or something.

My post ride nutrition is the same as my every morning nutrition (I typically ride from 5:45-7:15 a.m.). I eat this 6-7 days/wk and have been eating some variation of it for a couple years. This is all batch cooked, 4 days at a time in a slow cooker. I add the protein/berries/glutamine/creatine and mix it in after it’s been cooked.

Steel cut oats (1/2 cup uncooked) - 300 calories, 10 g protein, 54 g carbs

2 scoops optimum nutrition 100% whey - 240 calories, 56 G protein, 8 g carbs

1 handful of mixed berries - 80 calories - 20 g carbs

5g (1 scope) creatine

5g (1 scoop) glutamine

620 calories, 66g protein, 82 g carbs.

Occasionally I’ll only eat 3/4 in the morning and eat the other 1/4 in the afternoon.

Just implemented integration with intervals.icu this weekend; releasing shortly. I’m ready.

I think that debunks the idea that there is no point eating more than 25g protein in one sitting but I’m not sure it answers the OPs question around whether it makes any difference to adaptations to eat in a window post exercise.

The guests on the protein episodes of ‘inside exercise’ suggested not to worry about it at all, if I remember, just eat a good diet in general.
