Oops...I guess I went a bit too hard

Some real “per my last email” from Human Resources vibes here. Had a bit too much fun on my threshold workout. Maybe this time I’ll learn…

Shoot - that’s just a yellow day. The real fun happens when you start getting the red days sprinkled in!

I have yet to see two red days in a row (if I rested for the first one). I’m not sure if it’s possible, but if it is, I’d like to get there!

I always get 2 consecutive red days after my group ride…

How about 4 in a row? I think I might have overdone it this weekend… went to Strade Bianche after hardly any training (4 weeks ill) and had some fun with friends from my former club.

But it was totally worth it and we saw Pogi and Pidcock come by twice, the second time they passed us they were inches away from us.

Some people say you can’t cram fitness.

4 yellow in a row, working on adding one more for today. Will it be red? All the red I’ve gotten just show up on their own after a workout, so far.

I kind of look at this red/yellow thing as the ‘recovery’ screen on my Edge after a ride. ‘72 hours to recover’, etc… I did Grassy Ridge -3 yesterday and it felt easy, and I’m supposed to take a day off? I feel too good to take a day off today! Fast is fun? Oh, that’s Zwift’s motto. I’ll use how I feel rather than some algorithm to tell/suggest to me what to do. :cowboy_hat_face:

Like here, the weather can be so dreary, and when we have a run of several days that are perfect for riding outdoors, I’ll hit as many as I can. And laugh at the dire warnings of my Edge on how much time I need for ‘recovery’. But if I take that time off the bike, I’ll miss all that massively gorgeous weather!! Carpe diem!! And RIDE ON!!

My prior physician said that ‘no one has ever died exercising’. Yeah, I’m sure some have, but on a great day/week, grab it while you can, before it’s back to yuck.

Looked back at a little jaunt from earlier this year… 7 reds in row, followed by a yellow and another bonus red for fun

I’m sure that this is exactly how TR wanted this feature to be used - red day streak challenge

Wow, impressive, but I guess that’s what training camps/holidays are for, right? I went to Fuerteventura to prepare for Strade Bianche but I was sick the whole trip :frowning:

What a way to go out :collision:

Not that it’s a competition or anything

If it was, you’d win, easily.

Ahaha what trip was that? Looks epic.

Shame about Fuerteventura, but looks like you still had a blast on Strade!

Haha yeah, I had rented a bike but all I did was picking it up and returning it. :frowning:
I did enjoy Strade Bianche, it was amazing and I highly recommend it, if you can get an entry, go for it! I was surprised to see A LOT of gravel bikes as it is mainly on roads, a road bike with disc brakes and 30 mm tubeless tyres was fine for me. There are also plenty of people doing it on rim brakes but to be fair, you’ll be much slower on the gravel and struggle with traction on the steeper uphill gravel bits, but still doable.

That was from about this time last year in India when we spent a year cycling (most of the way, had to get a couple of flights) from Singapore to London. Was literally the best year possible, definitely going to do something similar again in a few years. - Julia & Tom (@pedallingbikes) • Instagram photos and videos

 Crikey! And I thought I was bad.

How did you pull up after it all? I just had a few flat weeks after that. The sick annotation in the middle of mine was more precautionary than anything.

We just cracked on and had another few similar weeks as we went North up to Delhi (in the middle of a heat wave, my Wahoo said it was heating 47-48°c most days ). Fair to say it took a toll out of us though and we definitely learnt we need to slow down a bit. The lesson didn’t last very long though, after Delhi we flew up to Kazakhstan and then made out way down through Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan - the cycling in Central was just too good to not be going everyday. Luckily when your touring cycling is basically all you have to do so you get used to the load pretty quickly
