Notes from a cold garage - reflections on structured training from a non-structured individual

Glasgow to Inverness in winter is Hard!

Hope your knee has healed?

Have you got back to training? Enjpying it again?

It sure was hard and i’m gutted to have not done it but it might be something that ends up helping me. I’ve had a month of enjoying riding small amounts and getting on TR for some SS work, taking stock. I have a 12 week S+C plan to help with some of my long term issues and am also getting some sports massage to help with tight areas (glutes and quads mostly). I’ve started a new TR custom plan on LV to allow for the stress of the S+C and also adding in some Z2 when the weather is nicer.

I’m looking at the workouts coming up (high level SS stuff) and lacking motivation really so i’ll see how I get on – the 10 minute SS intervals with 30 second break (and similar) are not fun at all and when they make up a fair chunk of the plan it’ll be a real mental challenge.

My hope is that in these next 3 months I can build a more resilient body. I am prepared for the riding to suffer a little but am hoping it’ll be below 20W and without too much impact on endurance.
