Giant, Cannondale, Specialized and Trek, those are the big bike brands in my mind. Canyon is a close fifth. It makes sense for a shop like Mike’s Bikes to replace one big brand with another. So swapping one for another makes sense. Although IMHO none of the bikes that Giant and Cannondale have made have particularly piqued my curiosity, save for Cannondale’s CAAD series. Specialized seems to have been much more successful at pushing the envelope. In mountain bike circles, the development of the Brain comes to mind. And I think here in Japan the biggest reason disc brakes have finally taken off is the Venge. Can’t say the same for Cannondale, Trek and Giant.
