This doesn’t really help you, but I’ve got a V2 Kickr that’s been bombproof, aside from replacing the belt twice. If/when it dies I’ll get another Wahoo.
I picked up the Neo 2T when it was on sale for $900 last holiday season. It’s been rock solid with all types of TR workouts, love it. It’s also quiet as hell. It looks like it’s back to full price ($1400) right now but I definitely wouldn’t pay that as it’s a few years old at this point. It should be on sale again soon.
Haha totally kicking myself for waiting, they were $999 like a week ago!
I got an Elite Zumo must be four years ago still going strong as my first smart trainer. Had a few issues and support was very good. I’ve even got spare parts sent to me in case I needed them in future (which I haven’t).
If you’re in the UK I think the prices are good and the support is good. @dcrainmaker might be able to say if that still varies across the pond.
We’re all different, we all live under different tax regimes, and we all use trainers differently (I’m the rare indoor all year type for ten years) but $1000+ on a trainer is beyond reason to me.
Yeah, I have an Elite Suite and use my Quarq power meter for power data (to have a single source of truth). Works great. When you fold the legs in, the trainer is also very small. The only thing I wish it had was the little drawer to keep the spare parts in.
