Missing 'Reload' button in TrainNow

I’ve often wondered if doing workouts, out of order has any impact on the trajectory to goal. Is a training program setup by plan builder to specifically stimulate certain systems in a given order, I guess there is probably a thread somewhere on this but didn’t look.

Order is largely irrelevant as long as you can complete each one as prescribed.

I noticed lately that the refresh button/shuffle only doesn’t change the endurance workout suggestion. The other two suggestions switch if I refresh. But for endurance I’m always shown pioneer -3 for the last 2 weeks. Is this an issue?

I get exactly the same workout everytime too. Pioneer -3

Thanks for the heads up – we are looking into this!

@hpsims @higherleap I checked in with the team on this and it appears to be expected behavior due to the intensity/duration limitations of Z2 workouts. Since Z2 can only be so intense before it pushes into Z3 (or on the other end, falls back into Z1), there are a limited number of sessions TrainNow will recommend for a given Workout Level/duration.

If you aren’t a fan of what TrainNow is pulling up, though, you can always resort to using Workout Alternates.

Then I feel the issue is that we’re only ever offered this one workout with a pl of 3.9 yet there are a few other z2 workouts of both 3.8 and 3.9. Im yellow today yet trainnow wants to only offer me a max pl z2 workout.

I understand. But there are other TR Z2 workouts other than just pioneer -3. Had no issues with how trainnow showed various endurance workouts before. Maybe it’s just being too restrictive with the parameters that are given right now.

The other change to TrainNow is that it used show you what it thought would be a good training session for you based on past activities. So the top one could be Endurance, Climbing, or VO2 and the ones below would be one of the others not chosen at the top.

Now it seems the order is always the same and the user is meant to choose which ever intensity they want. That seems counter to what was said the new TrainNow was supposed to do. Is this a compromise with having the cache AI results on device to keep AI API costs down?
