Hi I am maybe looking at the wrong aspect but a year ago I was doing a MV plan and I was riding just as much outdoors (initially in lockdown it was outdoors TR sessions and as things eased group riding resumed). I then went out in May 2021 and did a 56.59 for a 25miles TT at 292w (although I was using 250w as an FTP to train to). Basically after lockdown typically 2 intense WO in winter (1 intense & 1 club TT in summer), 1 Endurance WO and weekend social riding. After contacting support I was advised to get AT to work I’d be better switching to a LV plan, which I did. After doing so though my results have been nowhere as good though my best 25miles TT power wise has only been 246w.
It may be 2021 started off with 4months at my parents house and now my commute has got in the way and I can no longer do the club TT so the Wednesday Paceline has resurfaced (mainly for social interaction) but I am thinking I’ll go with my own LV -1 plan and replacing one intense wo for an endurance one and reinstating my Monday rest day. What do folk think?
My first thoughts are to:
Mon - Rest Day
Tues - Cycle Commute (circa 40mins eachway) and TR Intensity
Wed - Paceline or TR Endurance (it would probably be the Paceline most of the year if the weather allows mainly for social interaction)
Thu - TR Intensity
Fri - Rest Day
Sat - Social group
Sun - Gravel group (social)
Or maybe it would be better for a LV-1.5
Mon - Rest Day
Tues - Cycle Commute (Maybe adding a TR Endurance WO if I have time)
Wed - Paceline or TR Intensity (it would probably be the Paceline most of the year if the weather allows mainly for social interaction)
Thu - TR Intensity
Fri - Rest Day
Sat - Social group
Sun - Gravel group (social)
So it might just see me doing 1 intense TR session a week.
Edit or I go back to a MV plan and usually substituting the social group rides for WOs which I think will give me something similar to my second option but more likely variety in the intense WO’s.
