I believe they make socks for Tenspeed hero, and maybe The Athletic…they seem very similar to their Ventilator socks.
Defeet and Hincapie are both excellent socks. Castelli and Rapha are also great if you want something a bit more mainstream.
Got to agree with you, short socks all the way
I’d still ride with you. Way to own it.
My cycling tan lines look odd enough to the outside world. I try not to add to it with my lower leg. Ankle high socks are my go to, cycling fashion be damned. DeFeet are my current favorites and they just don’t seem to wear out.

Pongo socks here. Also have a good number of pairs of DeFeet socks. Pongo my favourites now though. Great quality and great range of styles/colours.
+1 for Pongo, very nicely made, good length too. Less of this ankle business, we aren’t all triathalodons.
Have my RidgeSupply subscription. Pretty happy with it.
Giro’s HRC socks are my favorites. Pactimo’s are a close second.
The have a list on their site under Artist Collections. They make for Ten Speed Hero, Team Dream Bicycling Team, Sako7 (maybe? I know they used to but aren’t listed on the site anymore) and others
Never tasted my cycling socks.
I really like the fit of Velocio socks, but I just wish they would offer 1" or 2" cuff version. I’m not of fan of the trend of taller and taller socks. Call me retro
I"m quite partial to the SupaSox Katakana SL from SupaCaz that my wife got me. I can’t afford $15 for socks as I spent everything on the bike
I use Rapha and Pongo. Not totally in love with either but once I put them on I don’t think about them until I take them off again. I like the colorful clean designs they have though.
You haven’t wore Swiftwick then.
The Capo AC15 is my personal favorite if I’ve got $20 burning a hole in my pocket. I really like the more compressive fabric they’re made of and the height suits my preference. Very durable, too.
They also make some shorter versions for all the old curmudgeons out there…
Have never understood why anyone would want to wear long socks. Hot, itchy, tan line in the middle of your leg - no thanks. I wear my no shows just as I would with any other shoe.
For me, as someone who primarily rides MTB, it’s really nice to have a little extra protection from brush/tall grass/etc. I don’t find tall socks particularly itchy, but I definitely find grass and brush rubbing my legs to be itchy.
As far as brands go, I haven’t seen them mentioned yet, but I’m a huge fan of Darn Tough.
Very helpful thread. Actually, usually wear loafer socks, And, in terms of design, I prefer simple design. recently I have bought socks online. and no doubt they are very comfortable and reliable.
