Let's see your paincave!

Thanks for the suggestions. I definetely need a fridge
After my first workout in the new location, I’m switching to a setup similar to what you suggests. The Headwind really needs to be in front. This should be fine. I’ll be running TR using the IOS version outfront and my MAC hosting entertaintment on the monitor. Gels & bottles on the table

Looks good! This is almost how I’m setup, but I have two fans out front on either side blowing on an angle towards me.

Still working on the Pain Cave / Office set up. Also included the garage gym

Could also ceiling mount a blower fan pointing down at you with either a smart switch or power strip to turn it on.

Revised poor man’s paincave. I put some annotations to emphasize the importance of the fan. Lots of people in my country(South Korea, what a safe place I’m in!) doesn’t seem to use fan while training because they think sweat is what makes them feel like done something. So I made this image to encourage people to use fans and posted on my blog.

I changed my blower fan placement to over the monitor. That’s where a fan can blow wind over both of my head and torso. When a fan was under the table, wind got blocked by bike thong, table itself, or towel over the handlebar. There’s now no blocking component.

I put my laptop on a stool in front of me and the fan almost directly in front of me. It works out well. Can you get rid of the laptop and just use the the monitor and fan? good setup by the way.

Very nice set up! Love it. What is the Felt tri bike on? Jus rear rollers? Never seen them before.

Its a feedback sports omnium trainer. Its a compact rear roller you can fold up and travel with. For whatever reason my wife loves to ride on that vs a smart trainer.

Can you get rid of the laptop and just use the the monitor and fan?
Yes, that’s what I’m going for in this setup. I’ll use IOS outfront, but will run all entertaintment from laptop. I also want the laptop for group rides.

You really need to be looking into ventilation if your training in a ski waxing space. Even just the dust kicked up from brushing ordinary hydrocarbon waxes can be really bad to breathe in.

I need a pain cave like this!

Here is mine, I’m doing much less with the gym equipment, but still trying to get 2-3 days of maintenance lifting in. (but being honest, its more like 1-2 while im in build).

What brand are those “bike boxes” haha. Looks awesome, especially with the light that swirls like that

The light is meant to resemble a MTB handle bar…
I am hesitant to share who manufactures the cabinet, because it is a little embarrissing how much they charge…
I can assure you I got a really large discount, but it is still a lot

Haha a bit of Googling around and I saw the pricing, sheesh! But still, I looked at what just the wood would cost to build something like that, and it wasn’t cheap by far… Even rebuilding an Ikea wardrobe to fit a bike would be expensive

Yeah, it is very heavy, high quality would with a great looking and feeling surface. Not IKEA. Also, it is handmade in Italy. A lot of things adding up.
However, I do understand everyone who buys a carbon road bike with electronic shifting instead of this cabinet :joy:
(Probably, I have too many of both…)

Sold our house and moved into my friends rental for 6+ months. Got the basement setup with my cyclyling stuff and finally feel organized. Haha

My garage “pain cave”. Used to have the bike upstairs and would watch tv but I figured bringing it downstairs would add to the suffering. Only have music now.

I’m guessing that this isn’t the family home kitchen? If it is, you have a very understanding family! :+1:

nope… the previous owners were setting the basement up for an apartment. mostly those cabinets are just being used for storage,
