It is what it is and as long as you didn´t payed via a consumer credit ( ) you earned it! If it is your money you are allowed to burn it for whatever you want to.
Had you used the SAD light prior to training indoors, or did you incorporate it specifically for training? I’m thinking to do something like this as well since the long winter has begun (Minnesota, USA) and I’d like to stay as mentally sane as possible given winter + pandemic. Do you also consume vitamin D supplementation, or do you find that the SAD light is sufficient?
thanks!
Looks great. How do you like your rocker plate?
Chad, I just built it last week (Veteran’s Day). I used one of the plans on your facebook group. So far I like it… I am slowly getting used to it. There is a learning curve to how much rocking, how many PSI per ball, the counter weight etc.
I also thought that my RPE would go down, but on the first couple of rides, I feel that my balancing muscles are a bit more tired, hence RPE has gone up.
Yeah, takes some time to find the pressure that works for each rider.
For RPE, I expect you will get back to “normal” once you dial in your pressure and get used to actually having to “ride” the bike more while on a rocker vs rigid. Happily, you can adjust pressures to require more or less input from you, to alter that effort and related RPE.
You can start with more support from higher pressure, but I suggest experimenting with lower pressure over time to see what you like best. Happy rocking!
Nice name GFR better than PC
@jmmetsar, that’s a concern I also share, especially since I currently have three fans blowing on my now. Since I typically am waxing or biking, it’s not usually an issue, but this year I may continue riding through the winter since I’m on month 8 of using TR and think it would be great to keep up through ski season to add some hard short efforts into a weekly routine. On snow, I typically get in longer intervals.
Hi everyone, I used this post as inspiration for my pain cave transformation. My house had quite a large area under the house that was full height - the house is on a steep section. Being a gym I was happy to leave the poles that support the house above in the space. Just completed my first TR workout in the cave and I’m really happy.
The 55’ TV is great and the Sonos sound bar makes it super clean. Need to add a treadmill and some weights.

Nice job
Nicely done, super nice setup.
My basement pain cave keeps my 2 passions going - cycling and music! Cheap IKEA computer stand (not Wahoo) for my laptop hooked up to TR. Not shown TV and fan in front. I still have the 3rd album I bought in 1969 in high school - The Mothers of Invention Uncle Meat
Picture of the turntable and amp please! I share both hobbies.
Garden shed… or training home away from home?
Really nice training space
How do you heat/cool it?
What is the giant chain link fence in the background?
Waaay too neat and orderly.
I’ve been following this one since you cleared the ground. Looks really nice!!
No need to heat it as it gets pretty warm after an interval or 2.
For cooling I have 2 fans; a floor fan similar to the lasko and a standard fan.
Behind the shed is a school playground hence the chain linked fence
Love the revo bands hanging on the door!
I love the bands… use them for either a warmup or a post ride exercise. Gets my legs on fire after a long ride!
