Mount them above your head, works for me, my old Technics system now put to better use.
I have a set oh Andrew Johnson Pioneers for music, and a Klipsch sounder on the TV so I can run different sources, or have music and ambient sounds, things like that.

Sorry, yes from the front wheel looking up through the handle bars to the rafters.
I use headphones now and again, but it’s been a while now. They get sweaty, another thing to remember to charge and annoying when they’ve come off. the few times Had the neighbour from several doors away complain, but that’s when the speakers were some 12ft away from me. Now they are above my head I don’t have them them turned up as much… no complaints since.
I’ve got a pair of cheap Bluetooth headphones intended for working out. They’ve lasted me a couple of years, long enough that I want to replace them because the battery is crap now. But my whole setup (including the STAC Zero trainer) is geared to letting me do workouts in the room next to my kid’s bedroom any time I want. Speakers would be a problem.
A few upgrades… Pain Cave during the week, Shebeen by weekend… All the S&C dust gatherers packed away beneath the bench (which doubles as the seat bed for my combi van (yet to be used as all the events cancelled!)).

I had those speakers. Not in my shed though ![]()
Are the tiles just for under the bike or the whole floor of a workout room? If the latter then I would suggest horse stall mats. They’re a bit heavy but very stable. If it’s just for under you bike then yeah a trainer mat or a thin yoga/exercise mat is probably the way to go.
I used to use speakers but started using bluetooth headphones and I wouldn’t go back to the speakers. Between the trainer, drivetrain, and fans I was having to turn the speakers up fairly loud and still missing parts of whatever video I was watching. The headphones take much less concentration to hear. This might be less of a concern though if you only listen to music. I just use a pair of $25 Anker Bluetooth Earbuds off Amazon that I can’t seem to kill.
Those Molteni jerseys ![]()
@maverick_sr71 It’s a Mac Mini. They have both an HDMI and a Thunderbolt output that allow you to drive two panels. I use one for TR and another for content streaming (mostly cycling on NBC Gold but sometimes Netflix).
With three 18s in post 485 on this thread I had a chest pounding system. It was great! Now that I live in geezer central I use headphones. Actually…they are both fine. When it comes to crunch time I hit mute anyway.

That’s cool mate. I like to have TR on one screen and Zwift on the other for motivation. I’ll look into the Mac Mini though, looks like a great idea.

This is what I can only dream about - an awesome setup - nice work dude ![]()
Yeah that does look really good, I would be tempted but my projector makes more noise than my rollers🤣
Two months ago we moved to a smaller house, so my previous pain cave (which I shared with the oil burning furnace) got relocated to the basement storage closet. It’s actually much brighter than the first picture indicates. I’ve toyed with the idea of installing Phillips Hue Smart Lights but it seems a bit extravagant for a closet. Improvement ideas would be appreciated.
