Let’s see some Tri/TT rigs

Nope. Haven’t lost me yet.

Played around with and fine tuned over winter, seems to be working ok so far

Nice bike, I have the same bars but have had trouble getting stack and angled pads. Would you mind explaining whet you did and the hardware used. Cheers

Hi yes no problem. The extensions are USE high rise. I got some 20 degree wedges from a company here in the uk called Aerocoach, they supplied the arm rests as well but you can buy the wedges separately if you wish

There is a guy called Jason Swann on the timetrialforum who 3d prints wedges in 10, 15 and 20 degrees. They seem pretty good to me. He goes under the name Kingswann on the forums. You can ask for specific hole placements and get canted ones as well.

I’m using some 40° USE extensions and have made some angled wedges for the armrests (see Argon 18 above). However I am using the original armrests, I have the Aerocoach ones but the bolts do not sit flush with the armrest cause of the angle. Can I ask what bolts are you using and do they sit flush with the pads? Cheers @Dek and @PhilSJones for the reply.

Ok @willow15. @hrkama appears to be doing with his 3t bars, what I have been doing with mine. That is angling the whole bars up at 15 degrees or so. This works Ok-ish for me because I then cup my hands over the top of the bar ends. I also like the fact that my bottom bar ends are slightly angled upwards.

However I have recently bought some USE 40 and 50 degree ski extensions in Aluminium, and a set of wedges from Mr Swann, 10, 15 and 20 degree. So I am now playing with variations that allow me to angle just the pads up and then use the various extensions. (My first experiment was with 40 degrees but I did not like it).

You are right about the bolts.
a) you need various sets of longer ones. (I bought a load from a stainless steel bolt supplier)
b) you need to accept that when the pads are at an angle two things happen
i) the bolt head sits slightly proud and
ii) the bolt openings need widening because the angle of the pads mean that they are no longer 25mm apart.
So I have ordered a spare set of 3T vola armrests (and pads) from sigma sport, so I can use my old ones to widen the countersink holes appropriately.

Basically geometry starts to play a part the more you increase the angle.

Does that make sense?

I have just rotated mu whole bar upwards. So my base-bar an with it extensions and cups are rotated upwards slightly
This year I have bought zipp vuka extensions so my wrists are even more upwards and I feel I do not need to angle cups since I put my elbows only on them.

The wedges from Aerocoach come with angled washers which enables the bolts to go in straight. I bought a pack of bolts of various lengths off eBay

Photos from the latest iteration of my rig… Roval 321 disc and 58T Aerocoach carbon 1x chain ring w/ 11-32 cassette. Was previously alternating between a 2x Q-Ring 54/42 setup and 1x Aerocoach 54T setup.

Also upgraded the PM to a Quarq DZero from the OG Quarq S-Works spider.

Clean up those etap wires. Otherwise looks good

That’s an XL ShivTT with the the saddle height around 84cm from BB center. I’m 6’-2" (~188cm). I need to work on bringing the front end down a little more so I can get my back a little flatter.
