I used 2 mini skittles packs and 1 mini Kit Kat and 1 mini Reeseās yesterday for this ride. I usually just use water. I felt no difference but it was delicious

Itās pretty much a low sodium Gu (5mg vs 60mg). Think that could be one thing youād run into on a hot day, but is pretty easy to supplement.
Surprised no one has mentioned Peter Sagan wolfing down a handfuls of Haribo immediately after winning monuments. Personally, I tend to stick to gummy bears/fish for most training, and might spring for Cliff blocks for a target race⦠though the difference is mostly in the price.
Worst thing this forum has done to me! I havenāt seen Haribos before. I was reading this thread and saw some in a boutique shop. I bought 4 packets to substitute in for the gels.

Am I the only one who eats albanese gummy bears? I havenāt bought haribo since I discovered albanese. Better flavors and texture. Texture makes them way easier to eat on the bike as well.

I have the same problem. We have a lot of leftover assorted gummie candies (swedish fish, sour patch kids, etc). I developed a habit of eating 2 packs (4-5 gummies ea) for my 60 and 90min workouts. Is this too much? I am addicted as I get an instant boost of energy about 5min after eating a pack. At least the next interval does not hurt as much. Can it be psychological too?
Eat away. Brush your teeth after (which we really should be doing after gels/blocks, anyway).

Damn straight thatās why Iām like Buddy in Elf every ride sucking down straight maple syrup as of late. Viscosity is so much easier to put down than any gel in hot or cold conditions.

I stopped buying Haribo because they are too tempting to eat while NOT riding. I use powered Gatorade and maltodextrin for rides. Iāll never mix that just to drink.
Just finished off my bag of $100,000 bars that I got for Christmas. Ate them all on the trainer mostly to avoid the sugar spikes of snacking on them. Only issue was when it got cold in the garage they were hard to chew!
anyone using life saver gummies as fuel? i like to tuck them into the lip (like tobacco)
they are super cheap and 7 gummies = 1 SIS gel
