New s works epic 8 or trek supercaliber gen 2 for first time Leadviller going for sub 9??
Might want to check out the Leadville Thread
I’d personally buy the better all-around bike which is the Epic 8. But short answer is, either is fine and neither will be the reason you do or don’t hit sub-9.
You’ll be fine on either. Trek might be slightly faster, but maybe not. Optimize for what is more comfortable and fits you better for 9 hours.
Either of these bikes are very capable, and neither are going to hold you back, or get you under that 9 hour mark. That is going to be down to your training. I would pick what speaks to you or what is better for the other races you are going to do throughout the year.
What will make the bigger difference than which frame is how you set it up. Leadville is a very fast race, so if you can be long, low, and aero, that will make the difference. Long and narrow setup will make a bigger difference too
