Kickr Bike v2 direct connect question

I got a replacement kickr bike v2 so it has wifi and the direct connection option.

When I opened TR to connect it displays the following

I don’t have a direct connect option adapter so it’s weird that the option displays. I selected the other option and all worked fine. I did the workout on MyWhoosh to I connected to the kickr bike from my MacBook via WiFi and TR controlled the trainer over Bluetooth.

maybe I’m misunderstanding something about the direct connection option

I think in this context DIRCON means the Wi-Fi connection and the one without DIRCON is just Bluetooth. I have a Kickr Move, I also have the DIRCON option, and it works even without the wired adapter. It shows up like that on Zwift too; I think from the point of view of the apps it’s DIRCON because they just see on the LAN, they don’t know or care if it’s there through ethernet or Wi-Fi.
