Kickr Bike V1, long term reviews?

Yes. If I have e.g. a threshold workout it will change the tilt up/down if an interval starts/ends (with e.g. endurance workouts you will not notice). So it’s only based on the workout, not on Zwift’s gradient.

Thanks for sharing. exactly which store has them on sale now? Even thou I might be too late already…

Despite my comment above, tested this today and it did tilt with the workout effort. Nice :grinning:

Any idea what % you need to be at for it to tilt? I did over unders on my Kickr bike today and didn’t see any movement.

@JennF I did some threshold intervals at 103% this morning and it tilted on the intervals. This was my first TR workout with my Kickr bike using the tilt function. I know this may be an obvious question, but did you double-check that your tilt functionality was unlocked before starting the workout?!

I did confirm multiple times :joy: but no dice. Will give it another go. How much did the incline change do you know?

Ha ok. I’m not sure how much the incline changed, but it was a very noticeable change—a few % at least.

It’s working for me as well. It’s not something I had really thought about much. I would occasionally manually increase the incline during hard intervals just I mix it up. But it’s nice that TR does that automatically. It’s not a mind blowing feature or anything but for indoor training any little thing can help. Just like my rocker plate. And just occasionally getting out of the saddle

Dunno where else to throw this, but I bought a tablet mount for the kickr bike:

I previously had the ipad taped to aero bars which was a temporary solution. My wife started back up and is using Zwift, so I decided on something cleaner.

Edit: aero bar solution:

Hello fellow bassist! Nice SVT.

Thanks! All tube, American made. I have a MIA Precision bass paired with it.

Unfortunately, they are woefully underutilized… Though the amp does make a decent trainer table.

So it seems my shifters have stopped working.

Everything was fine and I completed Wahoo SYSTM Nine Hammers using a combination of ERG and Resistance mode. I then did a few TR workouts in ERG mode and noticed I couldn’t adjust tilt. I figured it was some glitch with TR, so paused, turned the bike on and off, but no luck.

Today I went into the Wahoo app and it says shifters aren’t connected. They are, but I unplugged them and plugged them back in several times but no luck.

I put in a ticket with Wahoo

Follow up to my last post. I contact Wahoo support. They wanted some pictures of the connectors at the end of the cables to ensure they weren’t dirty and therefore not connecting. I knew this wasn’t the problem as the bike is in pristine condition, but obliged and went to take the pictures. At the same time I unplugged the bike again. I had unplugged it previously to see if this would fix the connection issue but it hadn’t.

Well after plugging the shifters back in and plugging the bike back in, all of a sudden the tilt controls starting working again and everything seems back to “normal”. I email Wahoo and let them know.

I will monitor moving forward but it seems this is some sort of a software/firmware glitch. The problem started after I had completed a Wahoo SYSTM workout (Nine Hammers) where I was doing some of the intervals in “resistance” mode but then flipping back to ERG. I had no issues during that workout but when I went to use TR in the following days the shifters were not working.

We’ll see if this happens again or not.

I have power smoothing on because it makes me sleep better at night. I’ve had this kickr bike for a few months. Things have been really smooth. However today, it gripped me hard on one of my warmup intervals as you can see with that spike from 306 to 955 for two seconds. This was the second ride this happened and I included the previous workout where this actually happened twice. I’m obviously in erg. Has anyone had any wierd spikes like this with their kickr?

Not yet fingers crossed. I’ve had it for a year and only use erg mode.

Has anyone used a carbon rail saddle on their kickr bike?

I have a V2 (but I think it can be applied to V1 as well) and I put on a Specialized Power Mirror (second tier of the power mirror saddles - as the third tier wasn’t available when I purchased the V2) and it works well

Yup, I also have the second tier power mirror on my V1 and can confirm it works great.

Bought a V1 used about a year and a half ago. Couldn’t imagine working out without it!
