Bought a KICKR bike (V2) in 2022. Can’t say it’s gotten heavy use, but perhaps moderate (some weeks 3 hours using TR, others 0).
Just recently the tilt button/shift levers on the right have stopped working.
Funny enough, I have a spare handlebar set, which shows a fault on the LEFT shifter unit.
Of course I’m in contact with Wahoo, but just wanted to see if anyone else has had similar issues?
Already tried switching cables around to various positions in the control unit, cleaning inputs with alcohol, even unplugging and restarting! No dice.
I have a v1 Bike and the right shifter got stuck with the brake stuck in “engaged mode”. I sent a couple videos using the Wahoo app to show resistance crank up or down when I plugged that one in and out.
Was maybe a 2-week turnaround to have them send a replacement bar with shifters. I changed the virtual gearing to match Shimano syncro and got by with just the single shifter for a bit.
Yeah. One tip I gave someone was to not ‘move in’ to the smart bike they bought. If the shifters die, or the bike dies, they may have to ship the entire thing back, so there goes bar tape, and labor to swap back to the stock bars. I put on gravel bars on one of the Kickr Bikes I had, and dang if they didn’t want the whole thing back when something tripped out with it. I asked, they DID want the original bars and shifters back. But some people have no problems with them.
I had that happen maybe after maybe 400-500 hours? Same thing, tried swapping ports and everything but couldn’t get the right shifter to work.
I exchanged a few emails with Wahoo and they send out a new unit (handlebars, shifters+wires, tape) and a label so I could send the faulty ones back. The swap was easy since all I had to do was take the faceplate off the stem) and I have put 200 or so hours on the new set with no issues.
