Is there a way to see your training zones in TR?

Hopefully a simple question…is there a way to see your training zones in TR? I’d like to get rid of some apps and I’m trying to figure out what I CAN NOT do in TR. I was doing a ride today that felt harder than it should have, so I decided to back off, but wanted to stay in the intended zone. Is there a way to see what TR thinks my Z1, Z2, Z3, etc. range is? I ended up looking in TP, which I would prefer not to do.

There’s this in the details page of any completed workout:

I don’t think there’s a way to see which zone you’re in during the workout, though.

I set my Garmin to show what power zone I’m in and set the Garmin zones to match the the TrainerRoad zones

Where do you see the TR Zones in order to set the Garmin ones?

Thank you! Do you know where to see them BEFORE you do a workout? Like is there a place on the TR website or in the app that has your zones listed?

Zone 1 Active Recovery 0-55%

Zone 2 Endurance 55-75%

Zone 3 Tempo 76-87%

Zone 4 Sweet Spot 88-94%

Zone 5 Threshold 95-105%

Zone 6 VO2 Max 106%-120%

Zone 7 Anaerobic 120% +

If you click on any completed ride in the calendar, then click on View Details, and scroll down a bit you’ll see the zones by power numbers, but I put them in Garmin as percentages so when I update my FTP the zones update automatically

Thanks. So they’re not listed anywhere other than in completed rides. Got it.

That’s a great idea! I need to add a specific page for indoor workouts and these zones would be helpful. Now I just need to figure out how to change and adjust my Garmin fields again.

Depending on your device you either do it with Garmin Connect online or the Garmin Connect App, select your device, select User Profile, select Heart Rate and Power Zones, select Cycling and then you can change everything how you want.

Yeah, it’s kinda wonky. There’s no “set my zones” in Garmin until you go into one of your devices.

On the iPhone, it’s Garmin Connect → Top Right click on the device shown → Select the arrow next to the device you want to edit → User Profile → Heart Rate and Power Zones

Sorry, but that’s a really long article and skimming it I didn’t see the answer to my question. Does it say there is or isn’t somewhere to see your current zones in the app without clicking into a completed ride?

I haven’t read the article….. but I don’t think there is an easy way to see your power zones no.

I think that this would be a nice addition.

Sorry, I thought you just wanted to know what TR used for each zone. You said " Is there a way to see what TR thinks my Z1, Z2, Z3, etc. range is?"

This is an ancient complaint I have had for ages. They still don’t offer any access to zone until you complete a ride. It is an oddity that it is the only place to see that info, along with other items that are in seemingly odd locations vs more logical headers. This is part of why I resorted to my google sheet with my own zones.

I don’t usually agree with feature requests but I would love to see the zone range above and below the blue bars during a workout. Especially useful when not in ERG mode. I really like this aspect of the Zwift companion app workout player.

To be honest it’s so ubiquitous in every other cycling app and platform I use that I didn’t even notice it was missing in TR

“kinda wonky” is being polite. I have multiple garmin devices and each follows a different process. Not a huge issue but annoying when you don’t look at that often and have to figure it out each time. Same with them automatically updating FTP without asking me to accept and I have to go in and change it back every so often. Sorry for the rant!

FYI - you can turn that off in the same place. Since it’s Garmin, I’ll add that it’s never magically turned itself back on (for me) :joy:

I know going off topic, but it used to notify you when there was a change after a ride. I want the auto detection but would also like a notification. For me auto detection did turn off, I think when they removed the notification feature.
