Inside Ride Kickr E-Flex Trainer Motion System

Just placed my order and sent a follow-up email re: the shipping cost. Shipping cost isn’t a deal breaker or anything but definitely want to question it as it doesn’t align with the shipping policy stated on their website.

Can’t wait to try it out!

EDIT: They got back to me and said that free shipping applies to their rollers but not the Kickr E-Flex. They said they would update the Shipping Policy to reflect this.

I did the same. Again, not a deal breaker, just interested.

Please share feedback when you get them and a few rides. I’m super excited to hear how they work for you all.

The floating fork doesn’t work with Zwift steering. The tilting angle produced by the floating fork is the opposite of what you would get when the frame is fixed into a trainer.

Well, it now says “Sold Out” :weary:

Wow! That was pretty fast :flushed:

Is this just for improved comfort or is there a handling benefit to it too? By handling benefit, I mean I’ve heard rollers can help with smoothing out your pedal stroke so would this do anything like that?

Just comfort

I’m hoping I get an increase in power/lessening of rpe. The difference between my outdoor and indoor power is huge, which makes it difficult to do workouts on trainer. Have tried many things. My latest hypothesis is that I get a good bit of contribution to power from my upper body. I feel like I’m running with my hands tied behind my back. Guess I’ll find out on Monday.

I am very cautious in power discussion, but I do feel that I have “more power” or at least am able to ride more naturally in my power delivery with a rocker plate.

The ‘hands behind your back’ is a good analogy in that we just move differently with the lack of frame movement on a rigid trainer. It’s not a huge impact at lower power, but it seems to increase in tandem with higher power levels for me.

Exactly for me too. Seems to be exponential for me. I guess my hope would be better described as lowering RPE, instead of an increase of power. My SS efforts on trainer have the RPE of vo2 efforts outside :joy:

I ride my eMotions a lot. After 9 years of toxic sweat in a basement pain cave, this happens. Still work fine. Am particularly proud to have ridden these enough that the anodizing on the drums is wearing off where the tire rolls on 'em.

Wonder if they offer a refinish service (joking).

Order just placed :grinning: Once I get it, and get several rides, I will post a review here

Glad you were able to order one. Mine arrives Monday! I’ll be sure to post a review after a few rides as well.

So I got my E-Flex last Thursday, and have completed 3 rides so far. The first ride was bad, but that was due to user error on my part. I didn’t set up the system correctly, so my Kickr was slanted to the left making my bike slant to the left.

I resetup the system on Sunday, and this time I got it right. My gen1 Kickr was perfectly vertical, which made the 2nd ride a completely different experience from the first.

Now after two successful rides with the correctly setup Kickr, I’m loving my E-Flex. As others have said, this is a game changer. The side to side motion makes riding the Kickr much more comfortable, and greatly reduces (or for shorter rides, eliminates) the need to stand up / switch positions.

The motion doesn’t 100% match what riding outdoors is like, but I’m okay with that. Riding in the saddle feels great, and the occasional standing to stretch the legs / back is fine. I haven’t tried sprinting, but I don’t do out of the saddle sprints on my Kickr anyways (I only do TrainerRoad workouts indoors, no Zwift for me), so not an issue for me.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like we have another great option in the trainer motion world.

I was on the waiting list to purchase one of these, and was able to get one ordered this morning.

I have gone through several different saddles, trying to find something more comfortable for trainer use. I dont have much problem riding outside, but have to stand up for 60 seconds every 10-15 minutes when riding on the Kickr or I get too much saddle pain.

Hopefully the E-Flex will solve this issue and I can stop buying saddles!

I’ve had my E-Flex for about two weeks now. I’m about 8 rides in (all 60-90 minutes so far) and I’m loving it! It definitely helps alleviate the frequent need to move around on the saddle (and it’s drastically cut down post-ride skin irritation/saddle sore issues). I’m really enjoying the ability to rock side-to-side and move front-to-back a bit as well. The ability to rotate the handle bars (to a reasonable degree) is really nice too. The majority of my rides have been sweet spot/threshold. It may be a while, but looking forward to doing some longer rides on it as well.

I’d highly recommend the E-Flex if you’re looking for a rocker that’s super easy/quick to setup out of the box and has a limited footprint (and you have a Kickr of course). I do 99% of my riding indoors----I believe the E-Flex is going to enhance my indoor training experience tremendously.

I just got my E-Flex last week, and I set up up yesterday.

I’ve now done two rides on it - a 1:15 minute threshold workout, and a 2.5 hour ride this morning.

In short, I love it. Much more comfortable.

Also, one of the nicest surprises to me is the fore/aft motion — it’s actually much easier on the knees.

Really enjoying it so far.

Awesome! So glad you guys are happy with the added motion. IR has a winner here.
