Curious if anyone has experience with an indoor trainer being set up in the same room as a cat litter box. Have you noticed any potential harmful effects?
The litter box is well maintained and planning to put an air purifier in the room.
I train in a room with a litter box and I don’t think it impacts anything? I feel like silica dust from the litter itself would be the big worry, but I don’t notice dust with the big brand clumping litter except when I’m refilling the box (which one can do in another room or outside).
Biggest training issue is the cat wanting to use the litter box, but not daring to go past the loud trainer, so instead sitting there and staring at you until you stop training. Then being all loving and nice and stopping you from getting back to training, until you give up and sit on the couch instead.
Probably not an air purifier is a good idea, though. The harmful parasite Toxoplasma gondii can be in cat litter; I believe it can only be transferred via touch. But unless you’re pregnant, it’s not an issue either way. But regardless I like to get as much air flow as possible, so I open all my windows even in the winter.
