High carb "training" in shorter rides?

Great feedback and yes that’s helpful! I think I’m trying to find that right balance; I’ve historically been more of a as few carbs as I can get away with and biased towards IM and Half IM distances, but as I’m trying to learn to be a stronger rider I’m finding the value in ramping the carbs up. Working on finding that balance in training and events (can’t call it racing being as slow as I am :rofl:).
