During my recovery week workouts i notice my hearrate steadily increases overnrhe course of 1.5 to two hours. The power level is pretty much flast for the entire time. What is the basis for this versus it staying at a steady rate during a steady power level?
It’s likely related to heart rate decoupling.
Interesting, thanks for posting those articles.
It’s totally normal. How much you HR drift up at a constant power is where level of fitness comes into play. The more aerobically fit you are the less your HR will drift over time rel to power. Decoupling is just comparing the HR/power ratio of the first half of a ride and comparing it to the second half. The only way to improve decoupling (getting aerobically fit) is to ride a lot.
If you like the idea, I made the HR Coupling page on my sheet to evaluate the calculations.
Thanks for the great information everyone
