Interesting. I would have thought far on the hoods it would move the elbows out (if you’re really following the grip backwards). Other thing that comes to mind is smaller handlebar altogether.
But overall might depend on the personal lever gripping style and I’m sure with your love on the details you’ve already thought this all through long before

That explains the somewhat less aggressive setup by my aero conscious twenty something buddy at LBS (I’m his virtual dad LOL):
When I have no fitness, I have to ride like this guy ![]()
I shift with my pinkies, and the top button on the di2 setup.

PS. Michelle has mechanical so she shifts with her ring finger I think. Forearms sit on bars, or just above bars, inside the outer edge, when riding aero.
