so where do you analyze your data then? on the device? on Strava?
Strava, training peaks, intervals
To be fair, I rarely analyzed my data on garmin either.
looking through reviews and message boards across the net seems that many users encounter loads of bugs.
naturally only those who have complaints show up on message boards, still I am not sure I am willing to be beta tester for a 400€ device.
I sold my Wahoo Bolt V1
thx, does the graph indicate the grade of the climb ahead? not current, but ahead! this seems to be the major advantage of climbpro?
On wahoo it always just showed a graph, a line going up or down but no definition of the grades ahead, just current grade.
I find it intriguing to be able to know the shape of the upcoming hill in advance when riding in unknown territory!
very torn between 530 and HH
Edit: ordered the 530, value for money now seems better for my needs.
The HH may be a great device some time soon, but I need features like ClimbPro now.
Just the line currently - see Elevation Graphs – Hammerhead
Personally the only extra thing I would like would be colour coding of the gradients. But like I said I would expect that more functionality would get provided in upcoming releases.
I actually did as you did and installed via APKpure but I get an issue with pairing sensors, I have the location permission warning pop up and cannot seem to click it off or scroll past it, if I reboot and go into devices again I see the sensors I want but the location warning pops up before I can save any.
Any ideas? (Apkpure is really good btw, great shout)
Then you made the right choice.
Just get to the the Karoo’s Settings screen (hold bottom right button) and allow location permissions for the app manually - Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Permissions
Hi everyone,
I got a hammerhead Karoo 2 to replace my old Edge 1000 and I’m quite happy with it so far. However I can’t seem to figure out a way to switch between notifications (iOS) in the in-ride drawer. I only get to see the last one, sometimes it gets stuck on a notification and I can’t even dismiss it, it is the only notification I get to see. On my Garmin I could dismiss the messages and browse through the messages I got during the ride. The Karoo displays the messages in a much better way but I still find it difficult to believe that only one message can be displayed at a time.
Anyone any experience on this? Can you guys swipe between notifications?
Don’t you just swipe down to dismiss and up to show more ? (other way round if the notification is at the top of the screen)
I contacted Hammerhead and they replied that it currently isn’t possible to swipe/scroll through messages but is on their roadmap for the future.
Blimey, I was sure that I had done this … but it’s probably that I have only ever had one notification to deal with
Whats the source of that as I didn’t think the TR app was available on the Karoo?
I was a long term Garmin owner, switched to the ROAM, but found the screen and rerouting very poor, just got a Karoo 2 on Friday. Karoo 2, arrived within 24 hours, paired first time with pedals and HR, maps downloaded, firmware updated and rode for 3 hours yesterday with perfect turn by turn nav and 75% battery left. Nothing fell off or snapped. Even with old eyes I could read the screen fine in bright sunlight.
So very pleased!
As the Karoo basically runs android, DC Rainmaker side loaded (and has details of how to do) so it’s not a HH specific app, it’s the Android app running on the HH
cheers Ray!
I’m sure some folk said they hadn’t had a good experience with sideloading of the TR app, especially for outdoor workouts.
regards,
Greg
Yeah, I personally wouldn’t use it that way. I guess my issue is two-fold there:
A) It’s a really small screen relative to what TR is designed for (slightly larger phone screens). It might not seem like much, but it’s notable. Yes, certainly functional, but not ideal.
B) For outside workouts, unless I’m horribly missing something, the TR app doesn’t let you execute an outside workout within the TR app itself. When you toggle an indoor workout to the ‘outside’ setting, there is no option to execute it. Instead, the idea is that you’ve got Garmin/Wahoo to do that, and maybe some day Karoo too (they’ve hinted/leaked mockups more than once). So in that sense, people are doing TR “indoor” workouts outside, which tend to have more specifity that is usually easy to execute out on the road.
Cheres!
I agree with Ray (shocking) if I wanted to use the Hammerhead to do outside workouts, I would do create them in trainingpeaks (via trainerday ?) and use the native HH workout player, which you can use outside as it part of the ride app, I wouldn’t use TR for this
Is there a way to send a TR Outside workout to TrainingPeaks at all and then into the HH workout player??
No TR only reads from TP, doesn’t send stuff to … I user TrainerDay to create workouts for TP and Zwift
