I have had Roval on my gravel bike and road. They are great. Came with the bikes.
New bike has DT Swiss. They are great as well.
On gravel I’m not sure I’m doing anything that I can tell the difference among any of them.
If I had to go buy my own set probably Flo. Save my money and buy another bike! Also not into big ole labels that I’m paying extra for. Just my view of the world. Flo is good. Black out stickers. Call it a day.
I’ve never heard of Flo wheels. Looking at their gravel wheels, $200 cheaper than what I just purchased (Roval). Not that big of a difference money wise and 400gs heavier.
I normally don’t like big brands either but I’m very picky what wheels I use.
Enve AG25 owners, what is your take on them? I’ve seen a lot of favorable reviews but the one below from BikeRadar is a little less favorable, especially for use over rougher gravel. For context, I have a set of Hunt 35 Gravel X-Wide and they have generally worked very well for me, but I did get my butt kicked on some steeper, rougher gravel. I’m considering a second wheelset aimed at climbing, rougher gravel (would use a wider range cassette, more aggressive tires, etc). The AG25’s seem to check most of my boxes (min 25mm width, <=1400g (ish), and possibly price if I could find a sale). Anyway, looking for real-world feedback on what you like and don’t like about the AG25s, especially in light of the BikeRadar review. Thanks!!
I rode singletrack with it and didn’t think it was a problem, but I was using 50 ramblers. they don’t mention which tires they were using, but I had no problems with harshness running larger tubeless tires at ~25 psi
Just ordered a set of the We Are One Revive Rims. $560 shipped and delivered for both, lifetime warranty, 345g ea, North American made.
This has got to be one of the best deals going for a high quality gravel / XC rim if the specs fit what you need… Dare I say, comparable to ENVE G23, a little wider IW at a steal of a price?
Depends on the goal or design for the wheel. Compliance will add an element of damage resistance and vibration damping, both of which can be beneficial. It’ll be based on both the rim design, spokes, and how it’s laced. With that said, I think you’re right. Rim Width Combined with Tire is going to be way more important.
If you’re referring to the Revive, the honest answer is I’m not pushing corners aggressively enough that I can notice any difference. I’m not a beginner by any means, but also rarely at the limit in corners.
