Yes, Wake got it right. Even when on VPN, my apps still come from the US app store.
Apple makes it quite challenging to change the App store region.
Thanks for this!
I was also able to use AirPlay with a VPN - I VPNād in to the UK to watch XCO world championships in Glentress using my MacBook Air. And I was still able to AirPlay to my Apple TV. All of this was using Safari as the client.
Discovery+ UK seems like the way to go. The only thing I have to figure out is UK-based payment. Has anyone been able to get @guyc ās method listed above to work?
Thanks!
Yep I think @Bikr did if you scroll up for the details.
BTW I have since switched an old Apple TV to be UK region (needed to create a new Apple ID) and that works really well using NordVPN and the Discovery+ app.
Is the subscription to Discovery+ UK different than just the standard Discovery+ subscription (for people in the US)? Or do you just subscribe to the normal Discovery+, then fire up your VPN and use the UK version?
Itās a completly different subscription. And requires UK based form of payment.
Echoing @christophebp with my experience using Discovery+ UK. Itās worked very well for me, and only slightly more of a hassle than my former practice of GCN+ with VPN. That hassle is manly just because it can only be accessed via a browser. I have a UK-based friend who was kind enough to subscribe with his PayPal account; I dropped a yearās worth of $$ into it and off we go.
As I already have Max and Peacock subscriptions, I guess UK D+ gets me spring classics and avoids Flo. I think the commentary is generally superior too, and Iāll likely watch stuff thatās offered by Max and Peacock via UK D+ for this reason.
In case anyone is not a member of the Escape Collective, here is the spreadsheet with a very detailed breakdown of what is where (as of now).
Has it been determined whether or not using a VPN to access UK streams with Discovery+ works?
If you read even as few as 5 messages back on this thread, youāll see that UK vs. US Discovery+ are totally different animals and require different subscriptions. The former requires a credit card with a UK address to subscribe.
I actually think itās even fewer than 5 messages.
Sorry to be a pest, @Teddy_Focaccia, but which discovery+ plan are you subscribed to?
Standard plan

or
Premium pass
The Premium pass costs £30.99 a month and has no annual option. This includes all of the above as well as TNT Sports. TNT Sports offers exclusive access to several Premier League games, exclusive access to all Champions League games in the UK (apart from the final), UFC, Rugby, and more.
Iām just interested in the cycling, not the other stuff. The day inly has 24 hours, after allā¦
You want the 6.99 plan
Yep, 6.99 plan gets you all the cycling content as far as I can tell.
Thanks @BillyWaldman , @Teddy_Focaccia .
There is also https://tiz-cycling.io/, which is a free pirateā¦
Bought a UK number through Hushed, but I canāt receive a PayPal verification code via SMS or phone call. Each time I try, nothing happens. Did you do anything special?
I had bad luck with text working, but having PP cal seemed to work after one or two tries.
Still didnāt work for me. So I forgot Hushed tried https://www.smspool.net/, and it worked on the first try.
I just subscribed to FLO for the yearā¦.not happy about it, but I have zero interest in faffing about with all these options for securing UK payment systems, etc.
I donāt mind paying the $150, I just donāt like paying it to FLO. Hopefully their business practices improve.
Itās expensive, but Iād pay as well. Problem is they cover what, 50/60% of the calendar? Missing Giro? Itās too much for half of the calendar.
