Now that I’m using TR exclusively instead of Zwift on occasions, I sort of miss the capability that Zwift would use the “road feel” vibration option for my Tacx Neo 2T to simulate as if I’m on gravel or cobblestone. I know it might seem like a fad but for me IMHO I like and miss it. Also since I’m now concentrating more on gravel races this year, I would like to see this feature leveraged and thought of a particular TR feature request.
So if one has selected a gravel (maybe MTB too?) plan AND they have a capable road feel feature on the trainer such as the Neo 2T or 3M (not sure what other trainers offer this feature), would love to see this used on workouts in the build or specialty phases. Not sure if we can tailor it to just every other interval or a few minutes on the workouts, or the entire workout. But if its the entire workout, offer a “gravel” on / off button on the workout maybe nested under Intensity menu, or some place within UX reason.
With AI FTP, HR and TSS all being formulated, curious if gravel plans can accommodate the bump in TSS and IF when workouts are done in this gravel option based on duration and workout. Or maybe it doesn’t matter at all?!
Anyways, throwing this out there as I’ve been watching and catching up on races, movies, etc now that I’m just using TR alone without Zwift and got me thinking missing that vibration road feel feature but don’t see TR using this (yet?). Hoping some thoughtful yet great ideas can make use of this.
Would love to discuss more and see if this is possible even if I’m that 1 or 2% using a Neo 2T and on a gravel plan along with a capable smart trainer.

Hey @dirtyzilla
Have you tried sending your TR Workouts to Zwift and see if you can use the road feel vibration option?
How to Complete TrainerRoad Workouts in Zwift
First yes I have previously sent TR workouts to Zwift. No matter the Zwift course if it had gravel/cobbles, there was no vibration.
But what I’m asking is just for TR to leverage this rather than Zwift. I canceled my Zwift last year after renewing my TR sub, so am hoping this request can be implemented for this platform.

Hi @Caro.Gomez-Villafane
If this works now or planned to work in Zwift in the future when TR workouts are synced, I would jump back in.
As I mentioned above, I would like to see TR use this option too. A thoughtful UX would be appreciated and I’m sure the TR community can massage this along the way.
For now I think having certain workouts maybe in the Build or Specialty phase would help. 1 hour duration for SS or O/U could be a start.

As of right now there are not future implementations for this. If we get enough requests for it, it can be something that we implement as a lot of our features are feedback driven
FWIW: if you have TR workouts synced to Zwift, and then do the workouts in incline mode, instead of erg mode, you will get the ‘road feel’ of whatever surface you are riding in Zwift. It takes a bit more attentiveness, since you are responsible for using your gears and cadence to hit the watt targets, but you do get the road feel.

Interesting, thanks for the tip. Maybe will try this if I ever get back into Zwift. With spring rides and races around the corner, won’t be on the trainer as much. I should’ve experimented more with the settings when I had the time. But I’ll keep this in mind come end of the year!

Thanks, totally understandable. I thought there would be more users at or around 1% or more, sort of like how the user base is for the group workout feature. Its a nice-to-have “feature” but I think with folks syncing their workouts to Zwift or just using Zwift alone, the trainer rumble feature is more of a fad.
Its great when implemented from a gaming perspective for game controllers. But from a trainer perspective, just wasn’t sure how many users would miss or use this if they had a Tacx trainer with this option.
