Favero Assioma Flats

Hi there,

I’m wondering if anybody is in the same boat as me. I have been training with power for several years and I love it. However, I mostly mountain bike in a region in BC where 95% of people wear flats to bike because our trails are ridiculously gnarly. My usual bike ride is doing a straight up climb of about 500 - 700 m and I would love to be able to get in a threshold or sweet spot work out on the way up.

I have a pair of Assioma Pro-MX power pedals and would LOVE to be able to put a pair of flats on them when MTBing on so I could really enjoy the way down. Is anybody else in a similar position? If so, consider sending Favero a message asking them to create a pair of flats you can swap out, similar to how you can swap the road/MX pedals. I figure I can’t be the only one and this seems like this could be an easy way for them to make money!

I realize I could get a power meter in the crank arm, but at this point it would involve a whole new drive train and I’ll probably buy a new bike in the next couple of years. It would also be really nice swapping the same power meter between bikes so I’m always training with the same gear.

Thanks!

Pretty sure there’s a couple flat pedal bodies that work with this hack

Or these:

Yep

But with noting that hack is for the original assiomas not the newer podless pros

I use Faveros on my road and gravel bike but got a spider PM for my mtb. My mtb has a SRAM direct mount chainring crank so it was easy to get a PM spider and chain ring for it. Power Meter City is a good site to check to see what’s available. I like the spider as I can change pedal types (spd, flat, eggbeater…) without affecting anything.

Would something like this solve the issue? There are other similar products too.
