I really liked the terravail Washburn tires for chunky, wet and loose gravel. They are on the heavy side but felt very gripping, boosting my confidence on corners for CX races. The races I used them for were mostly grass, wet grass, mud and regular days of semi chunky gravel riding. Like I said the only downfall was they are a little heavy and felt sluggish, maybe because of the tire tread. Never had a feel of loosing an edge turning or getting any flats, very robust.
