Exactly WHY the shimano fc7800 is BETTER than the fc7900!? Jimmy

Hey ladies and gents! Back to road cycling (i mtn biked all disciplines heavily in its absence) again for the 1st time in mlany years! Picked up a gorgeous 08 orbea orca dura ace model (as i road one back then and absolutely loved it) BUT the chain rings could use replacement. I thought about replacing the whole cranks to fc7800 instead as i imagined it was verys similar in performance but orders of magnitude prettier lol! Now that im here, i hear everyome saying the fc7900 is absolute trash which is so hard to believe being its dura ace! Can you all please explain (pic evidence is more than welcomed) exactly WHY it is they are so far apart performance wise and the pros AND cons for both cranksets!! ★★ALSO will 7800 crank set work with a7900 DI-2 electronic derailleur and shifter package!!??I greatly appreciate any and all help/advice!

Can’t not say.
However my Trek 5500 with 9 speed 7700 DA is still running strong.

I’m not aware of any significant performance difference between 7800 and 7900 series components. My training partner still runs original Di2 group to this day, not chain and cassette obviously, but everything else, including crankset. The only drawback I can think of is that the Di2 system is incompatible to later iterations.
