Ex DHB customers - Where do you buy your basics now?

Since the demise of Wiggle I’ve found it hard to find a brand that did what their own brand DHB did for clothes.

My understanding is that when Evans/Frasers bought Wiggle that DHB lives on in brand name only?

I always found their quality for the price to be perfect - they really hit the sweet spot. Their stuff never felt “budget” and they didn’t try to be “premium” - it was just good kit that you would never have a problem with.

I know a lot of people felt the same way because I still see a lot of DHB or on the roads in the UK - but where are people going for this ride of purchase now.

I’m thinking maybe GORE or Van Rysel? Anyone tried the DARE2B stuff?

Sportsdirect still sell a lot of DHB kit, so assume it’s all old stock.
I thought ahead a little bit and bought loads when wiggle was closing down as I wasn’t sure how easy it would be to pick up going forwards.

I still buy a lot from vinted and ebay (all new with tags) so it is still available.

I’m also in the same boat though as 90% of kit is DHB.

Van Rysel seems like a good option especailly as they have physical stores too, or maybe Siroko or something?

I use evans and have got some DHB stuff off there…Decathlon seems to be twigging on that their stuff is good and budget friendly lol. DARE2B has been ok for me

Wiggle and DHB are both still going, for UK customers anyway - Dhb at Wiggle

I’ve switched to premium brands but only buy the minimum things I need.

My old DHB bibs must be ten years old but still good enough for the paincave.

My gear lasts ages so haven’t had to buy anything of late. Endura, based on Scotland make good value kit.

The Wiggle website is just an orange copy of the Evans website now.

I’m sure I read that everyone working for DHB was made redundant so don’t know who is producing the DHB kit now if at all. Would love to be wrong on that.

Looks like they do still have some stock left to shift though…

I doubt anybody who worked for DHB actually got that involved in making the kit anyway, would have been outsourced with the DHB staff doing the designs, managing the factory relationships, ordering, quality control etc. Across the Fraser Group who own Wiggle there’ll be plenty of that capability already so would assume they’ve just rolled the DHB brand into existing teams to cut costs and try and make Wiggle profitable.

Just had a look at a couple of DHB items I own, one was made in Portugal, one in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Looks like the lineup of what they’re selling hasn’t really changed much if at all, guess the question would be whether the quality has dipped if they’ve switched factories, cut back on quality control, etc.

That’s my assumption too. I think DARE2B are the existing team?

I can’t actually see much in the way of new DHB branded kit though anyway - much of what I see on the website I recognise from last year.

FWIW we’ve bought quite a bit of Dare2B ski stuff for the kids and it’s been decent quality and fit for the price

I think Decathlon for cheap ski or bike or run over Dare2B

Galibier (https://www.galibier.cc/). I’d have bought a lot of DHB kit over the years, but switched almost entirely over to Galibier several years ago, well before the liquidation. They punch well above their weight as they’re direct to customer, operate largely on word of mouth, and Euro for Euro have better quality than DHB, regular deep discounts of old on Aeron notwithstanding.

+1 for Galibier gear. Excellent kit.

Galibier always has such unreliable sizing; it can be great or boxy or oversized or undersized - I think a lot of it seems to be them working with lots of different brands to get stuff through.

That said, at least you can return it and the guys who run it are a good bunch. I’d love it if they just made simpler designs - i can’t think of one good looking
Jersey they’ve released in 10 years. Even the plain colour ones end up being like some kind of weird sickly mint green or orange.

Giro stuff ends up in a sale very often and is pretty good quality (bibs for c.£25 etc).

My vote would be for decathlons Van Ryzel stuff.

Myself and a number of clubmates have bought lots of cycle clothing from galibier.cc and never had issues with sizing. They have detailed sizing charts for all of their kit. Be sure to order the correct size by following their size charts.

You may want to stock up on your Endura kit. I’ve heard a few rumours they’re not doing well!

Yeah i heard that too

Galiber make a fair bunch of shorts, their expensive endurance shorts were perfect for me. Many reviews said they were a bit short so the 2025 cut is now longer… which means they’ll be a bit long for me now.

Siroko isn’t bad either, bit more expensive but generally you can find codes to reduce it a bit.
