Dedicated thread:
My X01 AXS is 52t compatible also doesn’t have the forward part. Seems like everything besides the x01 AXS specifically now have the forward part
My only idea was maybe the larger cage keeps vines and things from being sucked into that lower pulley, but the X01 is the more enduro one which is sure to see more of that type of stuff, I would think. I want to email sram but they don’t have a contact us form on the site and no number for consumers, only dealers.
I realize it was an acquisition, but Quarq support promptly picked up the phone when I had a recent power meter question. Absolutely awesome convo including info on setting up SRAM App, eTap/derailleurs, and TyreWiz. With SRAM it sounds like you either get happy contacting a dealer or embarrassing them on Twitter?
I sent them an email, it’s more of a curiosity than anything since I already own the X01 AXS and don’t plan to sell it and buy GX/XX1 for the different cage, but I’m sure it’s intentional in design. Even the older XX1 mechanical derailleurs used to have the smaller cage and changed but X01 has been straight cage for a while, until the recent X01 mech (non-AXS) also went to big cage.
I could see running through supply being a factor but I also can’t imagine they had so many straight X01 cages left over to keep using them for this long only for AXS X01 and nothing else
Looking at SRAM site they also offer Eagle “DH” in a 7 speed? with a smaller cassette for downhill. Both the GX and X01 DH mechanical derailleurs use the straight cage Ike X01 AXS, but their regular non-DH counterparts both use the larger cage.
The more I think about it the more it seems to be for mud clearance
I have a busted GX derailleur with a bent parallelogram that I’m saving for parts for the same reason
Salut
Pourrais tu me donner le détail du montage pour pouvoir mettre un bouton pour la tige de selle télescopique !
Merci et bon ride
