It was the shifter batteries. Replaced all four. I’ll bet that’s been my trouble since getting the bike. It’s a shame the app doesn’t notify you when batteries are low.
I’ll send my invoice. My shifters recently sent a notification to the head unit that a battery was low. When it wasn’t the seat tube battery, I used etube to see what battery was low.
Do you use a head unit while outside? For the wahoo head units (at least) you can set up a page to view all the di2 info, ie current gear and battery life (derailleur AND shifters). For the derailleur it displays a percentage and for the shifters a little icon. The icon for the shifters is certainly better than nothing as it can be very easy to forget about the shifters considering the battery life for them!
keep an eye on your battery for the next year or so via your headunit. One of 2 things is going on… Either your shifters came in stock form with bad batteries or something is connecting when it shouldnt, causing drain. Make sure when you close the etube app, you actually disconnect it. Had this happen on an 11spd setup once and figured this out morning of a race (had my charger plugged into the trunk and running to the battery while on the car en route…bad idea!
These shifter batteries are typically set it and forget it, replace at an annual service. For comparison, ive had axs on my MTB for at least 3 or 4 years and havnt touched the shifter battery yet, Di2 seems to be even more power efficient than sram
And upgraded your Edge to one that supports Di2? Battery level is a great feature, most of the rest of it is just ‘more data’. After riding with a couple people that had dead batteries at the onset, or died during a ride, I vowed not to be ‘that guy’ as much as I could.
