DI2 Gravel bike suspension options

I ride a Parlee Chebacco and ride lots of rough gravel (washboard etc).
I need to get more compliance out of the bike while keeping it “racy” , so am contemplating a form of both front and rear suspension.
I have DI2 battery in my seatpost AND in order to fit me correctly I have no offset on my seatpost.

between the battery and the offset issue, I can not find an option that will work for the rear.
For the front, i am debating Lauf fork vs different suspension stems…

any advice would be appreciated.

Could you adjust your saddle position to work with a 7mm offset?

Unfortunately no, already maxed out

Have you looked into mounting the battery in the steerer tube?

If that would work, you could get a 0 offset leafspring seatpost.

Great suggestion, will check with LBS

It’s not exactly suspension for the rear, but would you consider a different saddle?

I use these on my drop bar bikes, partially because they fit well, partially because they’re weather proof, and partially because they have 5-10mm of “give”…

I’ve done this so I could install a dropper, but external routing so it works and I have a dropper, but :man_shrugging:t2:

Do you use the downtube bottle bosses? Or, I guess more specifically, do you ever change what you have mounted to those bosses?

If they’re relatively untouched then I bet it wouldn’t be hard to find or fashion a battery holder that’s held in place inside the downtube using those rivnuts. Requires removing the BB to service/adjust but that might be a worthwhile tradeoff for you?

I don’t think you’d even necessarily have to stop using the bosses on the exterior - it’s just that you’d need to only ever change one bolt at a time and you’d still risk losing hold of the battery holder even when doing them in sequence.
