Wait a minute, my spam radar is starting to bleep…
Did you really eating enough cake if you don’t get the sugar shakes after and can’t sleep? ![]()
Have you never got to the point in a meal where its become kinda choresome to eat more? Thats pallet fatigue. Which make it harder to meet energy requirements.
eating a bunch of sweets and caring about sleep but not the effect it has on your body/training in the long run is a bit paradox to me. It’s massively healthier to stay away from that sugar stuff.
the fruit options above and some yogurt variations or so are probably good ones to try!
I think it’s best you test a bit and not just follow some arbitrary message. I eat all the time within an hour before bed and have no problems. I used to do this too for extra fueling during ironman training (+ extra protein).
45 minutes is usually a good time before I sleep after my last meal. I too have a sweet tooth and I’ve found a nice combo to satiate the cravings.
Protein shake, oat milk, raw cacao powder, and a pinch of Himalayan pink salt.
I’ve found it super difficult to hit my required protein macros daily and discovered a protein shake can satiate that and help supplement my protein requirements. I’ll do protein (combat is delicious), 10oz or oat milk, 1 table spoon of raw organic cacao powder, and a pinch of pink salt. The cacao powder has magnesium and lots of other nutrients in it that helps you relax and sleep well. Might as well feed your body nutrients while you sleep before the next session.
Yep, I can also eat right until going to bed. The only thing that I found is better to avoid is large volumes of food, especially soup. That leads to a pretty full stomach, and as I tend to sleep on that, is a bit uncomfortable. It also then makes my bladder wake me up sometime during the night…
