Degreaser on Favero Assioma

While cleaning my bike I used degreaser (dish soap) to clean the pedal body of the Assioma pedal and washed off with water but I found out I’m not supposed to use chemical to clean them. Am I cooked? Did anyone ruin their Assioma by using degreaser??

Completely destroyed.

You can maintain and lubricate the bearings occasionally if you are worried.

Favero has guides and recommendations here:

Do not use aggressive chemicals such as: gasoline, gas oil and petrol by-products in general, alcohol, industrial or all-purpose degreasers, etc.

I don’t know. Dish soap isn’t the most aggressive degreaser. I wouldn’t stress about it.

So it’s destroyed? I need to get new one?

No. That was sarcasm.

Favero says the following on the page I linked “To clean Assioma you can simply use a damp cloth. Do not use aggressive chemicals such as alcohol, industrial or universal degreasers.”

Yes…. send me your old ones and I will safety dispose of them :+1:

Honestly though don’t worry, the power meter itself is totally sealed. The advice regarding degreaser is just avoid damage to the bearings… which in this case will be totally fine.

No more care needed than any normal pedal.
