Cost of power meters: just a rant

since SRAM doesn’t want to keep using the same Reynolds-made rims that Saris used to use for the Powertap wheels, the remaining carbon wheelsets are, for the type of product, dirt cheap – 835.00 USD for a carbon clincher wheelset+poweremeter.

I will admit to having bought a set in December, and then putting the unopened wheel box in a closet. When the trusty HED alloy+powertap wheelset I bought in 2015 finally dies in a couple of years, I’ll use the closeout carbon ones – still cheaper than wheels+crank-based powermeter.

I wonder if you had power meter pedals and stood so all your weight was on them that it could calculate this?

Where are you based? I’ve been looking for one of those (in black)

I’m sure there must be a third party Garmin Connect app that shows W/kg in real time! It’s not like your weight is going to change that much during a ride, maybe a few kg at most if it’s a hot day and you get pretty dehydrated.
