Cinch power meter

Did the update using Zwatt app. Not much improvement tho. Ok maybe 1 improvement. At day 3 post-charging I could still wake it up and find the battery at half. In the past, I’ll need to plug inb the charger even for a second just to wake it up. But still needs charging for the following weekend ride… :man_shrugging:t4:

Got myself a spider-based PM for my Enduro rig. Let’s see how that goes. Touch wood…:crossed_fingers:t6::crossed_fingers:t4:

I have one on my CX bike and I have a Stages on my road bike. I like the fact that I don’t need to replace batteries and it goes a long time between charges. It seems consistent but it has given me some major ego pumping fliers (no I don’t have a PM of 2 Kwatts). I like that it is enclosed so worry about it getting ruined from wet and mud is not a concern and I would not have to wrap up a Stages in plastic to protect it from the environment.

I have yet to try to do a side by side test with the Stages.

However, I had a very obnoxious noise coming from the crank and it got cleaned up (shop had to send away for and wait for a tool to pull it all apart) and when I got the bike back I only had cadence readings and no power numbers. Bike is in the shop again, I don’t have word on what happened but I suspect something got messed up and we are waiting for a new PM to arrive (I’ll need to call to confirm that). It could have been the mechanic’s fault or something about the meter itself.

I generally feel good about making this purchase.

Anyone else having issues with their cinch and experiencing poor customer service? I’ve been running the easton cinch power meter on my Open U.P for a year, has had very little use, it has suddenly failed, I cannot connect it via bluetooth to my wahoo head unit or the Cinch App. I’ve reached out to Easton through their warranty page, I am in Australia. ‘Debbie H’ orginally replied from the complany asking where I live and now no correspondance for over a week, despite other requests.

I had two, they were mostly flawless. One of them was stolen with my bike (they likely have NO idea what they stole either, such a waste). The other one I still have. I can’t remember which one I got first, but I think the stolen one.

I found an Easton one on the clearance rack at Jenson’s for $300 a while back. I waited a while to see if they price would drop figuring no one would buy it…and I was right. Dropped to $200 so I grabbed it. I am just sitting on it right now while I decide what my bike plans are.

Sorry for your loss but bizarrely that reminds me of the €14,000 team bike that got stolen in the Vuelta a few years back it turned up getting sold for something like €50.
