Am I incorrect in thinking the danger of dousing naked metal in water is worse than a small bit of grime stuck to wax on the chain?

The chain will only rust if left unprotected. Once it was done I immediately put it into isopropyl alcohol, then dried it, and put it on top of the wax while it melted. Two hours later it was ready to extract, dry, break in, and go back on my bike.

Did the same journey! But eventually landed on Effetto Mariposa’s FlowerPower Wax.

Much cleaner than Squirt, super silent, and on ZFC most recommended!
