even on those local farms, these hens are breed to lay 20x as much eggs as they would normally do. Which does cause them suffering. And these chickens still end up in te slaughterhouse and the male chicks still get murdered on their first day of hatching, so no, suffering is still there.
Eggs are not healthy, as i already showed with the source provided earlier. And just dismissing the source as biased is not a counterargument. Saturated fat, cholesterol. just two reasons for health not to eat them. Sure, you can eat some eggs and be healthy, but that does not mean eggs are healthy. Sure, eggs contain nutrients, still does not mean as a whole, they are healthy.
Veganism is not politics, its just common sense. And dont even start about the dairy industry, which is maybe even worse in terms of suffering.
Not going to comment on the choice of being veg, vegan or such - everyone is entitled to eat what they want.
But with that logic, everything is unhealthy. Literally everything we eat have some “bad” things in it. Its all about moderation… and athletes might have a little bit more buffer zone in what we eat in terms of amount of carbs and protein etc. than people who do not exercise.
We can all agree that everyone needs to contribute to making the world a better place, but OP asked about eggs for breakfast.
Eggs for breakfast are not bad for you. End of story.
Nobody lost their mind. I just said both the potatoes and rice are good choices and suggested that if its about health, maybe skip the eggs.
Have a nice day,
