Better have longer but less frequent high intensity interval training sessions?

I have just read an article on week periodization of interval training. Here is a link to the article.

I am just curious about what you think about the study referenced in the article. Has anybody experienced better improvement with longer but less frequent sessions over shorter and more frequent one ?

The longer TiZ, the better. It depends if you want to mantain VO2 max or see gains. If you want make some gains, blocking workouts that target specific systems seems to work best:

I have recently tried VO2 max block and it has worked better than single VO2 max in a week. But maybe it can be different in your case. Give it a try.

Interesting article. Thanks !
