Locktite the bb in place. I dud that 10 k miles ago and my bb has been silent ever since. I have a praxis bb on a tarmac.
Did the whole recommended primer and loctite thing.
Do you have a picture of it on your venge ? are you using it with a SHimano crank ? Thinking of buying one ! Thanks in advance
Not sure exactly what you’re looking for, but photo below. Ultegra cranks. Went in surprisingly easy to the point I thought I’d done it wrong. But after the wear in the thing spins like a dream, and the whole area feels stiffer to me. Glad I did it… to the point I looked to see if he does SRAM DUB compatible BBs for the used MTB I just bought.
+1 for checking the qr / thru axles, those things creak.
This summer I had some creaking in my bike, a Trek which had the bottom bracket bearings changed twice under warranty. I was like “oh no, here we go again”. Someone in a group ride heard the creak and after some talk about it he said “ok, just stand on the pedals now”… Creak was gone, it turned out it was the saddle rails/seatpost .
Similar story here, I replaced a bb and it still creaked. Tried various strengths of loctite, none of which solved the problem, then put my other wheels on… silent!
Stripped, cleaned and greased the wheel, Freehub and axle and no issues since.
Hi thank you for the picture, did you need a piece to put between your crankarm and frame ? or is it just put in the bottom bracket put the crank on and ride ? Thanks again
No additional parts or shims for my bike, just BB and crank. I did use carbon adhesive for the install. Probably 1000 miles in and no issues yet.
