Bentonville in March?

Considering visiting Bentonville in late March. Is the weather likely to be decent and will the MTB trail networks be open? Would hate to drive the two days from Canada and be faced with continuous rain and closed trails.

Thanks!

If it does rain, you can usually hit the Bella Vista trails same day.

I go to Bentonville pretty much every year around this time. The weather is variable, just like it is everywhere else, but it is generally pretty nice. I live in the Minneapolis area and I’m usually riding in shorts that time of year. Trail conditions wise things are pretty good. The freeze/thaw cycle is over and usually the trails are pretty dry. Most of the trails have fairly rocky soil, particularly in Bella Vista, that drains very quickly. Clay topped trails, which is common in Slaughter Pen, can be muddy after periods of heavy rain. Unless it is pouring rain all day, you’ll have something to ride any given day.

tl:dr - make the trip!

You can also ride plenty of gravel roads if the trails are too wet.

Late March into April is primetime imo. And as @bgoiffon said pretty much as long as its not raining, most are good to ride. I rode out there for an Epic Rides series race and it rained 11" the day before and I thought it was going to get cancelled. Nope! Just a few slick rocks and some mud to contend with.

Haven’t been in a year but they had some nasty storms last year with high winds and tornadoes (I think) which tore up a bunch of trees. Trail maintenance is pretty good out there though but I don’t know how they have held up since that.

Thanks everyone! As interesting as we are in the trip, all the annexation/tariff rhetoric isn’t the most heart-warming these days.
