What are the benefits with having nose tampons while warming up? I see a lot of pros do that.

There’s menthol oil (or similar) on them.

Correct. And if you’ve ever had any sort of nasal swelling/congestion issues you’ll know this is definitely not a placebo - opens up the airway big time.
