App always crashes on iPhone

Hi, when I open my TR on my phone it crashes and exits almost all the time. I don’t use my phone to run workouts (except in an emergency) but like to check my calendar etc quite often.

It’s an iPhone 12. Is it just too old? It’s all updated etc. it runs fine on my iPad (quite old) and Honor tablet (quite new)

Cheers.

Iphone 12 is still supported by the latest Apple iOS version 18. If it is still supported or compatible with the latest Trainerroad app is a different thing.

Hey @OwenL

Your iPhone 12 should work with TR.

Our minimum system requirement is - iPhone 5S and Newer.

Let’s check the following:

  • Software: Make sure you’re running on the latest software upgrade on your iPhone.
  • Storage: Make sure you have at least 2GB of free storage on your iPhone
  • Other app: Make sure to fully close off any other open apps in the background so they don’t take power away from the TR app
  • Battery: Make sure you’re not in battery save mode (the battery icon should be green, not yellow).
  • TR app: Let’s try deleting and downloading the TR app again to get rid of any corrupted data.
  • WiFi/data: If using WiFi or data, make sure you have a strong connection.

My iPhone is doing exactly the same and has been for the last two weeks. The app opens but is unresponsive when trying to navigate and then crashes. It getting to the point of being unusable. I have an iPhone 13.

I’ve also seen this except I usually lose patience and kill the app before it crashes.

@SPS and @mjw0, have you tried the troubleshooting steps I posted?

Yeah, none of that seemed to help. I will say that my situation is not as dire as some of the others here. I’m still able to do workouts, etc. I’ve just been noticing a lot of hangs in the application requiring I kill and restart. Hasn’t happened during a workout yet (crosses fingers). I can’t rule out a temporary Internet issue, though that would be bad behavior for the app all the same.

Thank you for letting me know. We’ll look into it and get back to you all

Uninstalling may have worked. Fingers crossed but it seems better for now! Thanks.

I’ve uninstalled and started again and it seems to be working as normal. Thanks for your help :+1:t2:
