Anybody switch from zwift to training peaks virtual?

Never used Training Peaks Virtual but read recently that they have a neat ‘auto-disengage ERG mode’ feature to prevent the spiral of death which re-engages in a ramped way when cadence picks up again. Would be cool if Trainerroad could do something like this.

I think some of the new smart trainers have that feature built in.

Training peaks virtual has a lot of potential and it adds improvements at a pretty good rate. But it’s tough to get momentum to build a large user base as it’s tough to pull people away from Zwift.

Zwift does this too. It happened for me the other day when I had to take a quick break during an interval.

I still don’t understand why Whoosh doesn’t sync to Garmin Connect. Surely this is an easy update. I tried Whoosh for a while but just didn’t like the feel of it. My wife’s been using it for a while since it is free, but it can be buggy and/or updates take forever to run when you are trying to start a ride/workout.

Because Garmin stopped allowing that. Others like TR, Zwift, etc. were grandfathered in allowing them to continue uploading workouts to Garmin

Does that include syncing completed rides? i.e. when you finish a ride in Whoosh it syncs to Connect? Or that is also now blocked?

That’s what Garmin won’t allow anymore. They haven’t allowed any new apps to upload completed activities to Garmin Connect in ages.

Mywhoosh cannot send finished rides directly to Garmin. Garmin closed that ability for anybody not already doing it

TPV has been regularly updating and UI is improving. They’ve added a bunch of world routes which are nice. I update TP premium with recent 25% discount.

But also renewed ROUVY for a year at like $147 as I still also like those rides.

so maybe I’ll see over the next year if I strongly favor one or the other.
