🎉📅🎉 Announcing the New and Improved Calendar! 🎉📅🎉

That’s a fair point. There is no Copy Workout function outside of the right-click menu in the edit drawer.

I mentioned this above, but this is a known issue with a fix in final review right now. I hope to have it resolved by the end of the week.

We found the cause of this and the fix is in testing. If all goes according to plan, it should be resolved in the next day or two.

That is good to know. As long as you make design affordances for people who use iPads or the touchscreen devices, that’s cool :sunglasses:

We just rolled out the fix to the intermittently unavailable right-click! Please let me know if you are still able to find a situation where your browser’s right-click menu appears instead of the calendar’s… in all my testing so far, it’s resolved :crossed_fingers:

Looks good!

Got another one. Copying a group ride to a different date results in displaying as a solo ride:

Also found an inconsistency: the right-click menu for group rides shows an option to do solo, but the solo ride doesn’t show an option to do in a group.

Good catch. I can replicate this on my account. We’ll get on it.

This is an odd one. I can replicate it but only by right-clicking the miscopied workout created by the first bug you pointed out. At any rate, we’re going to be making some improvements to the “swap workout” functionality in the next few weeks, allowing more flexibility in swapping workouts between different types. That work will update and fix what you’re seeing by adding entirely new functionality.

Ah yes, I now see it works on normally-created solo rides… “Ride with a group” :+1:

Thanks for this.

Current Known Issues (Updated 10/24)

The calendar beta does not support small mobile device screens, but it may work for some tablets in landscape orientation. It does not yet officially support non-English language settings.

Current bugs and needed improvements our team is working on are listed below. Note: this list is not exhaustive and doesn’t include all small items and edge cases.

General Performance

  • Some browsers can experience degraded scrolling performance in certain scenarios.
  • Clicking “View Calendar” on other athlete’s Career redirects to own calendar
  • Clicking a TSS chart bar and then scrolling can cause odd behavior in Safari

Calendar days

  • Rest Days are not clickable
  • Recurring activities can’t be dragged and dropped if start time is set
  • Some triathlon plans show zero durations on Swims
  • Some completed runs with TSS show no TSS on calendar
  • Some activities show less information than was shown on the old calendar

Adaptations

  • Adaptations may still be suggested when Adaptive Training is turned off

Drawer

  • “Teams” workout filter is missing
  • Rides without power lack expected notification banners
  • Custom notes are missing and can’t be edited from drawer
  • Start Times can’t be manually entered in 24h format
  • Drawer closes less smoothly when clicking X than when clicking out

Recent improvements and fixes over the last few weeks:

  • Made general performance and stability improvements
  • Improved reliability of the right-click menu
  • Fixed an issue where triathlon events displayed in the wrong order
  • Fixed inaccurate TSS totals shown when hovering over the TSS chart
  • Various improvements and bug fixes for Strength Training activities
  • Extended the TSS trendline past the current day

Currently in progress:

  • More performance, speed, and reliability improvements
  • Full support for non-English language settings
  • Allowing manual activities to be added to the calendar already completed
  • Fix for a bug where some activities lack information shown on the old calendar
  • Numerous other bits of polish and small bug fixes
  • A significant upgrade of the ability to swap planned workouts for different types

General update

It’s been quite a while since I dropped an update on our progress. We’ve made a ton of headway, and we’re chasing increasingly small and obscure bugs. We’re also continuing ongoing work on performance and speed improvements. Please keep the feedback coming! Your bug reports and feature suggestions guide our work. Thank you all so much for your detailed feedback and suggestions so far!

I don’t like very recent changes made to Annotation colours, which affects both Beta and the old calendars…

They changed from strongly differentiated bright colours to a set of murkier, muted colours that are less differentiated. The new selection may look nicer in screenshots or something but is functionally worse IMO.

I used to use the bright yellow for trips away (optimistic sunshine! :sun_with_face:), but these are now a murky dull mustard, clearly dooming me to worse weather… :person_shrugging:

“Rest Days are not clickable” Is this why “Train now” doesnt work? Looking to easy spin.

I found two bugs. The first is Geiger +2 workout doesn’t show the appropriate interval time in Safari. It’s 5x12 min intervals, but it shows at 2, 3, or 4 minutes for each interval when I scroll over it.

Also, I went to add an event and when selecting the event type the dropdown doesn’t have a background so the text overlays in an illegible manner.

Another bug in Safari. I added a group ride by clicking on the calendar day and submitting it. I then right-clicked on it to copy it and pasted it into another day, but it pasted as a solo ride.
Looks like this after:

That isn’t a bug, the 12 minute sections of Geiger are made up of a number of shorter sections at varying power levels - each block will end up at 12 minutes though.

These changes were made to meet UI accessibility standards. The new colors aren’t quite as bright, but they’re more distinctive and legible for athletes who have difficulty perceiving color and contrast. I agree they aren’t quite as pretty, but I think this is one case where the form rightfully follows the function :eyes:

This issue refers to when you have a Red day on your calendar, you’re unable to click or interact with the scheduled rest day on your calendar. You should be able to click the rest day for more information as you can on the old calendar.

This doesn’t affect TrainNow, however. When TrainNow sees that you’re in the red, its only recommendation is a day off.

As another athlete mentioned above, this one is expected behavior. The Geiger intervals are actually broken down into smaller ramping intervals, each 2 to 4 minutes in length.

This one is a known issue with Safari, but it’s been very intermittent and hard for us to pin down. Are you on an older computer?

The fix for this one is in testing now. If all goes according to plan, I hope to see it resolved later today.

I’m on a new Mac with the latest OS and safari version.

Two user interface suggestions:

  1. The right click functionality would be more apparent to users if there was a small black arrow in the lower right corner of each day indicating that there is some sort of a drop-down menu. You could click on that or right click in order to access that functionality.
  2. I don’t see why the drawer needs to have an additional window slide out to the left just to change a ride from indoors to outdoors. I think a lot of people do this on a regular basis and it doesn’t make sense to have it buried deeper or require additional clicks back-and-forth.
