Is there a way to force Plan Builder to give a base plan? I have two months until my main plan begins in earnest, and Iโd like to fill in the time with Traditional Base MV II and III. I can put the plans on the calendar, but it requires a lot of manipulation (eg lengthen Tuesday rides, add Wednesday endurance, shorten Thursdays, etc). Under the old PB, I used to be able to change the plan for any phase and adjust the daily durations.
Note: If I give PB the entire duration then I get a base-build-specialty-base-build sequence, which I donโt want. I want to see how I do with an extended base period.
You can add plan phases directly to the calendar without running plan builder.
By inserting a plan directly, you can change the days around but you canโt change the durations available which is what rkoswald wants to do.
It gives me a base plan when I chose โgeneral fitnessโ, and then 1 month and improve endurance. It says specialty, but it is a base plan. Hope this helps!
@Dono thanks for looking. Having just finished TB I, TR is giving me a specialty phase. Iโll just add it manually and adjust as needed. Thx!!
Yup I am wondering this as well. Would be really nice to be able to add run races into the Calendar as well + Run workouts.
Bit of a bodge job but to get base only, I put in a long enough plan to get base, customised it and then when I completed it deleted the plan and built a new long plan to get base again.
I also asked TR the same question a while back and would love to see the customisable times in the static blocks.

Is there any word from anyone on the TR team if/when will we be able to select the plan type for each block?
e.g I would love an option to select TRโs Polarized Base for this block:
This was something you used to be able to do in the last iteration.
Any update on the ETA for triathlon to be added to this? it would also be really nice if you could set running races and workouts in there as well so the plan can work around them better. Currently you can set the difficulty and duration but itโs not classed as a race and im not sure the plan builder really takes it into account.
What have been peoples improvements using the Personalized Plans? I know thereโs been a bit of grumbling about whatโs scheduled vs what they maybe expected but how has Progression Levels/Event Performance/FTP (insert metric of interest) improved when theyโve had good compliance with the workout prescribed on the day.
Would be interesting to see how it compares or would we get similar results with the canned plans in combo with Trainnow/RLGL.
Would be awesome if @Nate_Pearson, @Jonathan @SarahLaverty could chime in? perhaps offer a bonus update on the personalized triathlon plans also ![]()
