Turn it off, turn it off!!
I did not give you permission to document me at work. How could you expose me like this. ![]()
This is great news. I think it is awesome how open you and the rest of the TR crew is to feedback. Thanks for listening!

Perfect. “Constant Improvement” A.Malika
Is that the same machine for personal workout processing?
This is precisely how the Scotty workout was made.

I’d earlier said that I’d prefer 1-1:30 long podcasts. After listening to the 1h episode I’ll go back to a 1h format or less as my preference.
It was more than long enough to cover the topics in detail, having time pressure on the hosts meant there was more focus on the conversation, there wasn’t a moment where I was reaching for the +30sec button (I often do that…). Well done.
Re: rotating guest hosts, I just want to say that I’ve been listening to you guys for about a year and a half, and during that time I’ve also been working my way backwards through the old episodes and have gotten back to early 2018 now, and man oh man YOU GUYS HAD NO WOMEN BACK THEN! Haha! I know Amber has a lot going on and I don’t expect her to be there every single episode, but having Ivy and Hannah on from time to time really makes things feel more balanced, so please keep being more lady-friendly going forward because even when you aren’t talking about lady-specific things it just feels less bro-ey which is a good thing!
Yes, having women on the podcast adds an important and truly necessary dimension in terms of diversity. Not just in terms of representation or participation: the two sexes are by definition different and add value in unique ways. Both are important.
But I think Amber really made her presence known, and was a home run in terms of recruiting, because Ms. Pierce is not just a successful career pro racer, not just relatable, not just a genuinely nice soul, not just thoroughly educated on both the art and science of cycling, and not just a great communicator who can explain things in a way everyone can understand easily. She’s an AOTA host: All Of The Above.
Frankly, everyone else adds value in some great ways, but no one is as successful an “all-rounder” as Amber.
I guess as far as how long it needs to be is all relative. If you’d cover only one topic, one hour might feel that is too long, but if you want to cover 20 topics, then yes you might feel that the content is being rushed.
Choose the amount of topics/questions you want to cover with a conservative amount of time of discussion for each of them, and then pick a total duration. For example, pick 1:30hrs and that way if you end up covering everything faster than anticipated you finish closer to the 1 hour mark, or if you run longer then you’d be closer to 2 hours.
One thing that I’ve noticed lately is how much time is spent repeating what other people have just explained. Maybe there is no need to recap absolutely everything? It can get too long and without adding much value. I’m saying this in the nicest way possible, and meant as constructive feedback ![]()
Also, while I love having additional pro cyclists as hosts and hearing their experiences and advice. Sometimes I feel that what they do or can accomplish fitness wise is just too far from my abilities or even genetics. I think that is why I love the John/Chad/Nate/Amber combo since many experiences from Nate or Chad more people can relate to, and we can always get Amber’s Pro perspective.
Amber was a coup. Even though she wasn’t there from the beginning I consider Amber, Nate, Jon and Chad the OGs. A pod with those four is a special treat - though everyone provides a valuable perspective.
