An interesting message, perhaps. Yes, we should all strive to be a better person, but is this the right way to say it, or am I just overthinking (again). I just feel this could be triggering for some people. (I do like their ‘Dog Eat Cog’ series though)
If this is a trigger for someone… I don’t think I want to be around them. Considering the much more inflammatory stuff I have seen on t-shirts and such over the decades, this doesn’t even come close to raising an eyebrow for me. YMMV
I’d hope it has the same message on back. Dropped riders need to get the message too
Great point. Immediately make me think of Amber’s podcast name “Be a good wheel”
“Don’t tell me what to do!”
Or “Ur Not da boss uh me!”
OMG THAT!! Three quarters of my family have been ‘triggered’ by something I did, or didn’t do. My brother thinks I’m gay for wearing Lycra**.
Some people can get so ‘triggered’ by the least thing now. I thought it brave to put that on a jersey, but also potentially ‘troubling’.
I was wearing my Star Trek jersey, and some red necks in a huge pickup truck yelled at me that ‘It’s too bad you aren’t wearing a red jersey!’. The message was disgusting and rather shocking. It’s famous/infamous lore on Star Trek the Original Series. I’m sure such a monster would have something to say about ‘BE A GOOD PERSON’ too…
Primal did an ‘ON YOUR LEFT’ jersey that got me a ‘talking to’ about how ambiguous the term was. Yeah, I did roll my eyes, but tried to make sure they didn’t see me doing it. (The back was ‘I CAN’T STOP’, or something similar, and I thought it was hysterical)
Like @BlueHeron said, yeah I can see that being a thing.
** Then when he somehow saw Tour de France coverage, asked me how many times I’ve crashed while riding. 'Not as many times as NASCAR drivers crash.
But back to the jersey: I don’t think I’ll buy one Yeah, it would be great if people were ‘good people’, but some would assume they where good for backing up and running over a cyclist again, just to make sure…
@sasa It says ‘BAGP’. BAGP? BAG-PEE? The whole rest of the back is black, except for their logo and BAGP over the middle pocket.
Not bad, but I’d have gone all out Then again, the older I get, the fewer fucks I give about what people think about the lycra I wear.
I kinda get that. I have been through a lot over the past 5 years, not including anything to do with Covid. I have developed a ‘dad bod’, and couldn’t really give a crap. It’s hard to defy gravity. Having a Garmin calculated age in the 30’s go to a heck of a lot closer to my actual age is humbling.
With the world spinning out of control, I’m surprised someone hasn’t come up with a jersey with a middle finger across the back telling people they all suck and need to ride more. (Is there such a thing?)
I’m still ruminating the ‘redshirt experience’ since I mentioned it. What has happened to reality. Was it always so mean and pointless? I just want to ride my bike.
